A Higher Power

Do we take the HIGH road, the road less travelled or the low road?

At any crossroad we face that is always our dilemma.

For me the HIGH road is always the wisest choice. On the HIGH road we learn about honour, loyalty, love and respect towards ourselves and others.

It is a demanding trek though.

If we choose the HIGHER road we will need the help of a HIGHER POWER. I am not speaking of religion here, but spiritual choices we make for our own heart’s sake. As cliché and corny as it sounds, it’s bloody true in my view. Love does lift us up where we belong, where the eagles fly on the mountains HIGH. But we must let go of our fears to be free to embrace love.

It has not been an easy task for me. In days gone by my addiction and my ego was where I worshipped. I sure liked to get high, and had no idea on how to connect to a power that would give me the time of day. I was emotionally bankrupted.

My HIGHER POWER is no longer driven by my fearful ego, booze and drugs. The G.reat O.ut D.oors, spell G.O.D. to me.

GOD and love are one and the same as far as I am concerned.

I am not particularly interested in exclusive GOD clubs, but absolutely respect those that do worship Jesus, Buddha, Allah or whatever rings true to their heart. Whatever works and to each their own I say.

What I have come to believe through my own experience is that we’ve gotta be willing to lose everything in our life that is laced up with chains of fear (thoughts, feelings and relationships) before we’re ever able to gain true and lasting love.

Love we have to work for and earn every day, one day at a time. Love like bread needs to be made fresh each day. If we love people, we need to tell them every day, or whenever we see them.

Life is too short and love is too precious to be taken for granted.

So I just wanted to pay tribute to the words HIGHER POWER in this moment together.

Most of us seek more empowerment, however, we’ve gotta remember that it only comes to us from making and appreciating love more.

Let’s remember that there are two roads, two different directions we can choose when we arrive at any crossroads …

A lower path that looks easier, less challenging and more convenient, less bumps, peaks and valleys to navigate; our fear will choose this road.

Or if we are seeking growth, healing, strength of character, abundance and wisdom the HIGH road is where we will find it.

Taking the HIGH road involves investing in love will most definitely gift us with HIGHER EMPOWERMENT and abundance, true riches of heart wealth.

So let’s remember it is not about how hard we push in life that determines our success, but rather in which direction we push.

May a kind, loving and gentle HIGHER POWER fill and guide your heart.

Lotsa love Cynthia xxx
