When a near miss or a wake up call crosses our paths these WARNINGS are blessings not punishments.

Beliefs about our worth and patterns of immature behaviour are consistently reviewed as we all grow older so we can also grow wiser and healthier.

The time schedule and opportunity for growth and change is an individual journey yet an inescapable human reality.

When our old model of living is reaching its ‘use by date’ the form of a gentle nudge or subtle WARNING signs start to occur.

A speeding fine (stop rushing)

A health warning (weight, alcohol, drugs & ciggies)

A physical push of aggression (potential for violence)

Verbal disrespect escalating (infidelity, faith in our value)

Job review not going well (passion and purpose)

Bank or usually generous person declining any more financial support (living beyond reality)

Younger generations ignoring our advice (no credibility, hypocrisy)

If we ignore life’s early WARNING signs, Universal laws will continue to ‘up the ante’ to wake us up so we pay attention to the gifts awaiting us in our next stage of emotional growth.

If we deliberately pay attention to any beliefs or behaviours that keep nudging at us privately from our heart inside to address, life lessons can become a little gentler? If we do not, the outside world will give us a less subtle, unmistakably harsher prod. If we ignore bills the service is disconnected or the reward is repossessed. The same rules apply when it comes to Emotional Fitness and maturity. If we do not take responsibility and show commitment to taking care of our lives and ourselves, the privilege is removed.

So let’s intercept any future emotional crises, do our maturity homework and show up for ourselves? For in this life we have two options as we mature to model for the generations following us on how to live life.

We can either be a “shining example” or a “bloody good WARNING”, what’ll it be?
